From 27-year-old vines and aged in 10% new Burgundian barrels (pièces and 300 liter), the 2021 Chardonnay is very pure, fine and delicate on the nose that is reminiscent of Blanc de Blancs champagne, combining refreshing saline and limestone and well as phenolic notes with delicate and elegant ripe, lush fruit aromas. Very elegant and refined on the palate, this is a saline, tight and tensioned yet very delicate terroir wine from Nieder-Flörsheim's limestone rocks that reveals remarkable saline and tensioned but finessed texture with fine tannins and lingering salinity. This wine was to be bottled three days later. Tasted in Nierstein in August 2022.
